What insurance cover will I need?
You need to know exactly what insurance cover you have otherwise it could be very costly if you have an accident and do not have sufficient protection. Remember as well that you are driving an unfamiliar vehicle and probably one that is larger than the one you usually drive, so the chances of you having a crash may be higher. The minimum insurance a company is legally bound to provide is third party cover and this is usually quoted within the price. This covers the cost of any damages to other vehicles or persons if you were to have an accident that was found to be your fault
On top of third party insurance it is highly advisable to make sure you have Collision Damage Waiver (CDW). This covers you against any damage that you make to the vehicle yourself and any repairs that need to be made as a consequence.
Beware, your insurance may become invalid if you fail to comply with the terms and condition. Such as if your vehicle is overloaded you may not be covered or if you forget to lock the van. So read through the small print.
